Secular · no faith gate · crowdfunding
Secular health share with no faith requirement
If you bounced off Medi-Share, CHM, or Samaritan because of a statement of faith, CrowdHealth is the secular lane people usually mean. No faith requirement. Still crowdfunding, still not insurance, still has eligibility gates.
Who this page is for
Households who bounced off Medi-Share / CHM / Samaritan faith gates but still want a non-insurance medical cost path. and will accept crowdfunding risk.
The short version
Faith ministries
Usually require a statement of faith and operate under share guidelines.
CrowdHealth
No statement of faith. For-profit crowdfunding + advocacy. Not a ministry.
Still true
Not insurance. Not MEC. Funding not legally guaranteed. Eligibility gates still apply.
Don’t flatten the category
Secular ≠ “same as Medi-Share without Jesus.” Different legal and operational model. Read How CrowdHealth works and Health share vs insurance.

Who should skip CrowdHealth
- You need a contractual payment obligation. Stay on ACA or traditional insurance.
- Tobacco, weight, or age gates fail. Check the current FAQ (tobacco history, 220 lb female / 260 lb male, membership ends at 65).
- Heavy near-term pre-existing needs. Related crowdfunding is usually closed in years 1-2; year 3+ has a related cap.
- You need MEC in a mandate state. Membership does not satisfy MEC (CA, DC, MA, NJ, RI, VT named; verify your state).
- You need HSA-fundable premiums. The membership fee is not HSA-fundable per FAQ framing.
- Expected delivery is under 300 days after mom joins. Maternity crowdfunding is not eligible in that window.
